Worship

Our Sunday worship service is held at 10:00 AM, we consider it a blended service with traditional and contemporary blended together, and of course the scripture is traditional while many of the songs are contemporary.  We use power point to display scripture, songs, and readings, but hymnals are available if you prefer to read the music as well.

Invitation!

Most people find our congregation to be friendly but not too pushy.  Our Worship Service could be considered a blended service, one in which we sing some newer songs and some traditional songs.  Most often the words to the songs are projected but music is available for those who are able to read music.  Often times the most important points of the sermon are projected using power point.

Please join us in the near future!

Our Church News

Vacation Bible School

VBS 2010 was another great success.  With continual growth and huge groups of kids, we bumped the starting age to 4 and stuck with our 6 groups of children (Pre-K, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4-5th) and rotating activity stations.  As in past years, due to the amazing volunteering spirit of our church and church friends, the week was incredible.  We had 133 children and 65 teen and adult volunteers working to make the week a fun-filled memorable event that families are wanting to come back for year after year.  This year’s theme was SonQuest Rainforest!  The music was great, the crafts were creative, snacks were awesome, stories were inspiring, recreation was sweaty, and bible games were a connecting point for groups to bond.  We are excited to start having more and more VBS “graduates”  entering middle school and wanting to come back to help.  Many thanks to all who play a part in helping VBS be as great as it can be.

Mark your calendars for July 6-9, 2011.  We are trying out a Wednesday – Saturday schedule next year to work around the 4th of July holiday – but not be too far into July – and to allow many of our church children to attend a week of overnight camp at Ghormley.  It will be a splashing good time as we head to the beach for another exciting themed VBS week of fun, prayer, friendship and memories.

You can visit our sister web site called Meadow Springs Online which features videos of sermons, vacation bible school, and other information related to church services and activities. In addition to videos, you can view photos from events at the church.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The prayer Shawl Ministry at MSPC began at Ghormley Meadows Family Camp in 2009.  We have given over 300 prayer shawls and fleece tied blankets away.  Recipients include: babies in our church, expectant mothers, those facing medical procedures, and several people who have been grieving.  They are given a card expressing our prayers of love and hope for them, and to bring them blessings of comfort, gifts of warmth, and the knowledge that they are wrapped in love.

In the community, prayer shawls and blankets have been given to residents at Richland Gardens, Guardian Angels Homes, Richland Rehabilitation Center, Eagle Assisted Living, and Richland and Kennewick Life Care Centers.  A recipient at Richland Life Care we visited wanted us to pray for her and then donated all her yarn because she could no longer crochet herself.

Last Spring we knitted baby sweaters that were included in disaster kits that were distributed by the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Project, more will be given next year.  This fall, the needs for chemotherapy hats and blankets for Veterans was our focus.  In October, 24 chemo hats were donated to the Cancer Center and more are being made.  In November, 15 military-style fleece tied blankets were given to the Richland VFW to distribute. We are looking into other ways we can help our military at home and abroad.

This ministry has touched many lives, those who have received as well as those who give.  Pray for our ministry and let us know if you or someone you know has a need for comfort, warmth, or love.

Our congregation has been involved in a process of becoming a "missional Church."  We have made a great deal of progress in this journey.  Our congregation has adopted a new Strategic Mission Plan.  This has been an exciting time as our congregation has been praying specifically to discern the Will of God for this time in history.  We hope you will join us on this exciting Journey.
